FAQs?

Questions other travelers are asking…

What time does a normal day start and end?

We normally begin the tour/activities around 8:00am, just after we eat our wonderful breakfast. The tour/activities usually end around dinner time (8:00pm). Of course there will be some fun, optional morning/night activities and/or photo opportunities outside the “normal day times,” but that is completely up to you!

Average age and fitness level of travelers?

Ages vary, but for the most part travelers tend to be between 35 – 70 years old, with adequate health and ability to walk several miles a day. We take everything at an enjoyable and relaxing pace, but there is just so much to see, do, and explore that you should expect to be active during most of the day.

How do meals work on a tour?

Adam will be recommending the best unique and local restaurants along the way and what items on the menu to taste. We eat most meals together, and often in family style so you can enjoy even more unique dishes and flavors on your journey. Adam keeps track of what you order, pays during the trip, and simply bills you at the end for your food. Plan to budget about $40 – $50/person/day for food.

Do we get any free-time?

There is some free-time built into the schedule within each city so you have time to explore on your own, or rest up for the next great adventure, as you choose. One of the advantages of such a small group size is it allows for more or less free-time to fluctuate based on the interests and needs of the group. We still have a lot of wonderful activities planned each day too, so you won’t need to worry about a lack of things to enjoy.

Why is the deposit non-refundable & non-transferable?

In order to plan these amazing trips so many months in advance and make the reservations and commitments necessary to enjoy everything our trips offer at the price they are offered at, your deposit is both a commitment to DeSerio Tours as well as the other travelers who have also signed-up for your specific tour, all of whom need to make non-refundable commitments, flights, and plans as well. The deposit not only secures your place on a tour, it also guarantees the ability and success of the tour for all.

What about Travel/Health/Cancelation Insurance?

There are many independent travel, health, and trip cancelation insurance providers that will cover exactly what you are looking for. Rather than partnering with just one and then having to charge a premium for that single service, DeSerio Tours instead recommends that you work with such insurance providers directly, thus paying the best rate and being able to select from many providers for the exact coverage you want and need. If you would like additional information and recommendations for independent insurance coverage and providers, please let us know and we would be happy to help guide you in the right direction.

Will Adam take photos of us individually, and the group, and are those photos available for purchase?

Yes, and for free! Adam takes photos during the trip of the group and of you individually, as you’d like, and offers all those photos to you via dropbox for free at the end of the trip. Any landscape/architecture photos he capture during the trip will be posted to his portfolio website, and can be purchased after you return to the U.S.

What if I have my own group / want a private tour?

Fantastic! If you have a group of between 5-8 people, Adam would be happy to work with you directly to create a customized tour around your schedule and in consideration of your travel interests and needs. Adam has local knowledge of over 60 cites in Italy, from North to South, as well as Greece, Switzerland, Egypt, and other parts of Europe. Just send us an email to start the conversation, and we will get back with you right away.

 What’s the fine print?

Normally; There is an initial non-refundable deposit that each traveler must make to secure their spot on a tour upon sign-up. The remaining “balance due” is due according to the specific tour payment schedule and Terms & Conditions. Usually, 150 days prior to tour start date 50% of the Balance is due and becomes non-refundable, and the remaining balance is due 90 days prior to start date and becomes non-refundable. Therefore, independent travel insurance is highly recommended. Tours are limited to a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 8, unless otherwise noted.
*Review Terms & Conditions of specific tour for details, cancelations, & refund policy.
