On this special journey through Southern Italy, you will experience the true magic of the Italian culture and people, eat amazing food, drink incredible wine, capture stunning images, and explore the greatest cities that will take your breath away at every turn. We begin in the South of Italy, in the costal town of Sorrento, tasting authentic Napoli Pizza, Mozzarella, and Limoncello. We explore the ruins of Pompeii, the lost Roman civilization preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Discover the sun-bleached peach, pink, and terracotta towns built along the cliffs, as we take our private van along the picturesque and romantic coastline of the Amalfi Coast, stopping in the towns of Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano. Explore one of the most beautiful and romantic islands in the world, the island of Capri, where lemons grow larger than softballs, hundreds of flower varieties cover the island, and the Blue Grotto calls your name! Next, we fly to Sicily and begin our Sicilian discovery on the west coast in Palermo. As one of the most conquered cities in the world, Palermo is the epicenter of culture and vitality in Southern Italy, with plenty of food discoveries, amazing history, art and culture, and views from the neighboring cities and beaches. We finish our Sicilian journey by spending the last days on the east coast in Catania and the neighboring towns of Taormina, Siracusa, and Ortigia. Here we discover a whole new set of traditions, culture, foods, views, and see a completely different perspective of local Sicilian life. Full Itinerary below outlines all activities, entrances, hotel nights, transportation, and group meals included throughout the Tour. Most days begin at 9am after breakfast and finish after dinner. There will be occasional free-time made available throughout the tour, while most days are filled with amazing activities, restaurants, and a full itinerary. Most days consist of daily walking around the cities, with frequent stops along the way to enjoy the views, delve into the activities, and live “La Dolce Vita” (the sweet life) in Italy!
(ARRIVAL) ROME
DAY 0
Tour includes this Arrival Day, with the one night to rest at our Rome Hotel before setting off Sorrento the next day. Please arrive on the first date listed under Tour Dates (Day 0). You may arrive anytime, however, check-in may not be available until after 2pm. Coming from the US, you will probably need to book a flight departing the US the “day before”, as time zone differences and total flight time will require that to arrive on Day 0. This first day is just a rest day, so you can be ready for the amazing journey ahead! Next day, Day 1, Tour activities will begin after breakfast.

SORRENTO, AMALFI COAST, & ISLAND OF CAPRI
DAYS 1 – 5
Welcome to Italy… What better way to begin than in the South! As the top requested place to visit in Italy, there is no surprise why. Home to the invention of Pizza, and appreciated for its immense coastal beauty, welcoming local culture, and very distinct history influenced by both Roman and Greek Empires. Step back in time while visiting the ruins of Pompeii with Mt. Vesuvius as our background. Full day of food and cultural discovery in Sorrento, mozzarella cheese tasting, limoncello, and living La Dolce Vita (sweet life). Next, we travel by private van along the picturesque coastline of the Amalfi Coast, visiting Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano. Our travels continue by boat for a full day to the Island of Capri. Known as the “Emerald Island,” Capri boasts incredible aqua-green waters that sparkle in the bright sun and more than 800 species of plants that flourish on the island. We will take a private boat tour around the island, and special entrance to the Blue Grotto.

We travel by flight from Naples to Palermo and check-in to the hotel. Welcome to the capital of culture and vitality as we enter into one of the world’s most conquered cities and the capital of Sicily. We spend a few days on this west coast side of the large island, discovering the local food, wine, and traditions as well as take some time to visit the surrounding area through touring and tasting of local Olive Oil, Salts, and of course… wine!

We will travel to the other side of the island of Sicily to dive deep into all the local food, culture, wine, and destinations that Sicily has to offer. Using the beautiful city of Catania as our hub, we will take day trips to all the amazing surrounding areas, and tour each of their unique cities. Taormina, the picturesque hilltop town along the coast, filled with beauty, views, and ancient history at every turn. Siracusa and Ortigia, home to some of the most amazing ancient Greek settlements and cities of Sicily. We will visit many small towns filled with locals, as well as some of the locations used in the Godfather movies. We will participate in several hands on cooking and tasting experiences of both foods and wines of Sicily. Finally we will conclude with a sailing experience along the coast to take in all the sight we have come to know during our stay and enjoy our final meal and sunset together as we conclude our Southern journey through Italy.
