“It was a wonderful tour! Adam was very knowledgeable about the Italian culture and we enjoyed our tour group. It was great not to sweat all the details. We enjoyed having the transportation, hotel accommodations and meal arrangements all taken care of by Adam, which was very important to us. We could just enjoy the tour. Also, liked that we did not have to wait in long lines or any lines for that matter to get into the venues. “We signed up for the Journey Beyond Italy Tour in 2025 because we wanted to explore the beautiful Italian countryside and experience the local culture in a small group setting. This amazing tour exceeded our expectations! Not only were we able to visit world class destinations, we were also able to intimately experience various cultures, customs, and cuisines. We enjoyed the “other worldly” boat ride through the Blue Grotto by Capri. We loved seeing the Tartuca Contrada museum in Siena which is generally not open to the public. In addition we experienced cooking classes in which we made pizza, pasta, and pesto in 3 different locales, an added bonus. Adam has a charming personality and is able to swiftly adapt to challenges as they appear, virtually invisible to the group. He is able to plan the trip so that the participants can simply travel and enjoy. If plug and play describes this trip, Adam plugs and you play! We went on and signed up for a second tour (Discover Greece) even before this trip ended. It was a testament to our strong endorsement of DeSerio Tours. “We thought the Amalfi Coast and Sicily tour would be a good intro to experiencing Italy and prep us for a second trip and third trip to Northern Italy and Greece. We were right…thanks to DeSerio Tours!! The smaller traveler group size allowed us to appreciate activities not available to large tours. Much easier to immerse ourselves and enjoy the roads less-traveled (without missing art, architecture and history…and yes – unforgettable meals!) We loved the amount of organization and thoughtful attention to the smallest of details. Learning the basic/essential Italian phrases (and hand gestures) to maximize interactions with native Italians! We expected a lot…and we received much more than we expected. Adam was always on-time with off-the-beaten path itineraries, kept us feeling very safe at all times, and organized efficient transportation from start to end of everyday. Adam’s amount of knowledge was helpful in providing guidance and checklists for all aspects of international travel. How-to-pack videos, do’s and don’ts, etc. In a word – Expertise. “In 2019, we embarked on our very first trip to Italy. After conducting extensive research, we decided that joining a small, intimate group tour would be the ideal way to explore the country. The benefit of having everything pre-planned and organized allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Looking back, we are confident that it was the right decision for seeing so much of Italy in such a meaningful way. Our initial journey through Italy left such a lasting impression that we felt compelled to return. In 2022, we chose to expand our adventure by visiting new regions of Italy with Adam, meeting new friends, and discovering hidden gems that we hadn’t encountered before. This second trip surpassed our expectations and was even more remarkable than the first. Having enjoyed two memorable tours with Adam and DeSerio Tours, we approached our first visit to Greece with excitement and confidence. “I’ve been on 3 tours: 2 in Italy & 1 in Greece. As a single woman, traveling alone, I always felt well taken care of and extremely safe. Most of my very best vacation memories are all from travels with DeSerio Tours. I chose DeSerio because of the small-group format. Accommodations have always been lovely and comfortable. Dinners have been so much fun as we explore different cultures. 1) I loved the toboggan run on Mount Pilatus in Switzerland. 2) The deep dive experience in Siena – so much more about the Palio. 3) Racing around on scooters through Florence with Adam. Oh, AND the Blue Grotto of Capri – the most beautiful!! First and foremost, hanging out with Adam is THE BEST. He’s so much fun and so interesting to learn from. I especially enjoy walking around and learning about everything. He really knows how to do a tour. The best thing about DeSerio is the Small-Group size. You have the opportunity to walk together, eat at one table together, and sit near each other on the train all together. And you don’t have to drive in a bus; instead there are really nice passenger vans. “We learned about DeSerio Tours visiting their family art gallery in Sedona, Arizona, where Adam’s landscape and travel photography was on full display. Visiting with Adam’s family, who were at the gallery, got us both excited about the possibility of traveling to Italy. Once home, we signed up for a DeSerio trip soon after.
Our first ever overseas trip was with Adam and DeSerio Tours (Experience Italy – 2023). Our time in Italy was delightful. Adam’s natural warmth and love of travel is engaging. We immediately felt comfortable with him and our fellow travelers. His thoughtful attention to detail is exceptional, and if some activity needs to be adapted, Adam does so with ease. Each day’s itinerary is full of memorable sights, learning, and off-the-beaten path discoveries, with the day capped off enjoying a great meal, glass of wine, and lots of laughter! Adam is readily there to help answer questions and to gently nudge and offer opportunities for travelers to step outside their comfort zone and try new things.

People often ask us what the best part of the trip was when we return home and we rarely can single out a top highlight. Venice, Florence, Siena, Tuscany, and Rome, I (Sue) close my eyes and images of special moments in each place transport me right back. We have lovely photos, which is another plus traveling with Adam as he is an excellent professional photographer and instructor, but the best pictures are the ones that live in my heart. The Experience Italy trip was magical, and it makes us want to return to this wonderfully unique country again – and with Adam of course!

With Adam on our trip to Italy we caught the “travel bug.” The best remedy; to sign up for another trip with DeSerio Tours! The allure of Greece beckoned (Discover Greece – 2024)! We were fascinated with its classical and biblical history and the beauty of its islands that we had seen only in movies. In Athens we walked through the ancient grounds of the Acropolis and the Parthenon during the day and in the evening viewed this iconic sight from the vantage point of a wonderful restaurant where we ate dinner. Adam took a portrait picture of each couple against this amazing backdrop in the distance. This photo remains one of my favorites from the trip. Enjoying the Aegean Sea by boat was amazing. Swimming, snorkeling and having the opportunity to steer our sailboat for a short time made for a most memorable day! The islands of Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini each held captivating charm. Windmills, colorful flowers, and shops in Mykonos, the gate of Apollo at sunset with the sounds of a young violinist serenading us as we were leaving, and a day relaxing on the beach in Naxos. Finally, picturesque and romantic Santorini, with its whitewashed buildings and famous blue-domed churches, cliffside villages, wine tasting, breathtaking sunsets and fascinating volcanic history was all and much more than was advertised. “I took my first trip to Italy in 2019 with DeSerio Tours and enjoyed it so much I went to Italy again in 2022, as well as to Greece in 2023 with him. The trips more than exceeded my expectations. Adam’s skill at managing all the details such as transportation, accommodations, food, and all of the amazing sites in both Italy and Greece made for truly unforgettable trips. As a single woman I felt very safe traveling with DeSerio Tours and value the friendships I made. I particularly enjoyed the small tour group size. We were able to share wonderful meals together at unique restaurants and often traveled in small vans. Because of the small group size we rarely waited in lines at the amazing museums, ancient ruins, beaches and cathedrals Adam arranged for us to visit. His knowledge of both the Italian and Greek cultures, architecture, art, history and cuisine added such a depth to the experiences. His background in photography was another bonus of traveling with DeSerio Tours. Whether the group members were using sophisticated cameras or their iPhones Adam never hesitated to share his expertise on how to capture the best photos. The cooking classes Adam arranged were another amazing aspect of the trips. I’ll never forget learning to make homemade pasta on a rooftop overlooking Rome, or learning to cook truffles on a patio in Tuscany! The biggest benefit of traveling with DeSerio Tours is the stress free ease at being able to experience Italy and Greece at such a deeper level than I feel you could do traveling on your own or with one of the “mega” tour companies. “We were on the Experience Italy Tour in 2018. We decided to take Adam’s tour because of the very small group size and the promise of unique experiences. After meeting with Adam in Sedona, we knew we made the right choice. Our tour was all we’d hoped it would be. We had a great group of people that blended together well. Every day was fun and rewarding. We had wonderful experiences that you couldn’t get with the typical large group tours. Our dining experiences were fabulous. Small, family run restaurants with amazing food and hospitality. The top of the list was Adam’s approach to managing the tour. It was a seamless, hassle-free experience for us. The experiences included both the “famous sights” and the “off the beaten path” experiences that we loved so much. Adam’s photography coaching was another valuable benefit of the tour. We felt like we were traveling with family, being led by a knowledgeable local guide who wanted you to have the best experience possible. Compared to other tour styles, when on a DeSerio Tour, you will probably have to work a little harder; more walking, handling luggage, using stairs instead of elevator, but it’s all part of the authentic travel experience in Europe. The intimate nature of the experience and the personal attention from Adam are far beyond anything you will receive from large, mass market offerings.”
